Your Credit Union (YCU) is a not-for-profit financial co-operative that is owned and run by its members. It is open to the public serving anyone who lives, works or studies in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster and City of London. Your Credit Union offers a safe and convenient way to save money and provides loans to members at fair rates of interest.

The appointment of a Chief Executive with responsibility for the day to day running and strategic development of the credit union. It is the aim of the board to work efficiently and effectively towards a self-funding position as soon as possible. The new Chief Executive will pick up the explicit brief for building the business to achieve this aim. This will include responsibility for:

  • Growing a simple financially sound product base and marketing plan to raise deposits and continue to lend sensibly to the local community.
  • Develop YCU’s services and business functions by working with technology providers and other credit union provider partners.
  • Manage the team by organizing the workload and developing operating protocols to better service our customers and further develop the skills of our team members.
  • Maintain and develop management and compliance structures to ensure the operation of the business in a manner compliant within the standards demanded by the FCA and PRA.

With demonstrable experience in a strategic leadership role (ideally within retail financial institutions) and delivering positive results, the successful individual will be a practical hands-on delivery-focused executive.

Chief Executive Officer

Moneywise Credit Union serves the North East communities of Tyne and Wear, County Durham and Cleveland, providing financial services to over 8,000 members.

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of continuing Moneywise Credit Union's plans as it aims to be the leading credit union in the North East.

We are looking for a Chief Executive with the experience and knowledge to lead and direct Moneywise in its continued development. Through this leadership we are looking for someone who can promote Moneywise; securing its future and reputation as the leading community based Credit Union in the North East.

Educated to degree level or equivalent experience, you will have a sound understanding of the financial sector and excellent management skills. You will have excellent analytical skills with a proven ability to deliver performance and financial management systems to ensure our continued compliance with all legal, regulatory and financial requirements associated with credit unions. You will have the ability to present performance and financial information in a clear and concise way to the Board and our wider membership.

As a successful senior manager, you will have a track record of managing people and services through change, with skills in problem solving and influencing others. Essential for this post will be: the ability to work within strict operating protocols and deadlines; organising workloads and managing competing priorities.

Business Development Manager

To assist with Company growth targets an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager within Moneywise Credit Union.

The main duties of the role are:

  • Responsibility for implementing and delivering a sales growth strategy
  • Account Management of your portfolio
  • Personal sales element – new business and account management
  • On-going training and career development to ensure an improving, competent and up to date skill set
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers
  • Working with colleagues to ensure cross selling opportunities are maximised
  • Who are we looking for?

    We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a desire to make a difference and share our enthusiasm and commitment to our business model. You should be able to work independently to engage with new businesses whilst also motivating existing staff members to convert leads. A good team player who shares our ethos and can sell the principles of credit unions.

    Experience of the credit union sector or financial services would be preferable but not essential.

    Competitive salary is negotiable depending on experience, in addition we offer defined contribution pension.
